Our 42-page, unique wine-list at Waldhaus am See consists of no less than 1,300 different wines from around the world. 50,000 bottles of fine wine from 22 countries are stored in the cellars of our wine shop, World of Wine.
The French wines in the Waldhaus wine cellar are trump: A variety of noble drops from Pauillac, Margaux, St. Estephe, Pomerol, St. Emilion and other Appellationen forms the emphasis of this collection. “They make the best wines”, says the still-convinced Bernasconi. Further highlights are the 1961 Châteu Margaux and Château Cheval Blanc, as well as the more rare 1989 Château Le Pin. In addition, the 1976 Richebourg of the domain de la Romanée from Burgund and bottles of Etienne Guigals La Turque 1992 from the Rhônetal, add distinction to this collection.
The Italian wine-growing regions of Piemont and Tuscany are also represented well with some famous names. Bernasconi particularly likes the Australian cult wine Grange, a Syrah. Many different older and unusual wines are stored in optimal conditions in the cellars of the Waldhaus World of Wine. The Spanish wines of Pesquera and Vega Sicilia please the hotel keeper, as well as the Dominus, from America. And it does not always have to be the best of the best - the tip of the pyramid: Good wines, including a wonderful selection from the Bündner Rhine Valley, are available to all of our guests at reasonable prices.
