The French wines in the Cave Waldhaus cellar are trump: a wide range of fine wines from Pauillac, Margaux, St. Estephe, Pomerol, St. Emilion and other appellations is the focus of our unique collection. "They make the best wines," Claudio Bernasconi says, convinced of that. Other highlights include the '61s Châteu Margaux and Château Cheval Blanc, and the very rare in the market 1989 Château Le Pin. In addition, the 1976 Richebourg of the domain de la Romanée from Burgund, and bottles of 1992 Etienne Guigals La Turque, from the Rhone Valley, add distinction to this collection.
With famous names, the Italian wine regions of Piedmont and Tuscany are well represented. Bernasconi also especially likes the Australian cult wine Grange, a Syrah. Several older vintages are stored under optimum conditions in the cellars of Cave Waldhaus. The Spanish wines of Vega Sicilia and Pesquera please Bernasconi, as well as the Dominus from America. And it does not always have to be the best of the best, the tip of the pyramid: excellent wines, including a wonderful selection from the Bündner Rhine Valley, are available to all of our guests at reasonable prices.
